Bosnian Food Made Fresh Daily, only at Mrakovic Toronto & Oakville
There's a difference between food that's called authentic and food that actually is. At Mrakovic, that difference is tasted every single day. Authenticity isn't a marketing word here; it's a kitchen standard, one they've held since 2003. Every day, their team preps from scratch, fires up the Balkan grill, pulls burek from the oven, and bakes lepinja fresh. Nothing sits. Nothing gets reheated. Nothing comes from a bag.
That's not a policy. That's just how Bosnian food is supposed to be made.
Two Locations. One Standard.
Mrakovic has two locations in the GTA, one in Toronto (Etobicoke) and one in Oakville. Both run the same kitchen, the same recipes, and the same commitment to quality. Whether coming from Toronto, Mississauga, Burlington, or anywhere in the GTA, Mrakovic is easily accessible and a must-visit stop for traditional Balkan meals.
Mrakovic Etobicoke - 44 Wellesworth Dr, Etobicoke, ON
The original location. The one where it all started.
Walk in, and the smell hits before anything else: grilled meat, fresh pastry, bread baking in the back. This is part butcher shop, part European grocery, part Balkan kitchen, all under one roof. Regulars call it a hidden gem. First-timers tend to say the same thing on the way out.
The grill runs through the day. The deli counter is stocked with house-smoked meats – Sudzuk, Smoked Beef, BBQ flavoured sausages, all cured in-house. The European grocery carries imported staples that most GTA supermarkets don't. There's a dining area to sit down and share Balkan meals with family and friends.
Pro-tip? Order the ćevapi and burek. Sit down. Don't rush.
Hours: Tuesday - Friday: 8am - 8pm | Saturday: 8am - 6pm | Sunday: 9am - 5pm | Monday: Closed

Mrakovic Oakville - 220 North Service Rd W, Oakville, ON
The Oakville location brings the full Mrakovic experience to the west end of the GTA.
Same freshness. Same halal butcher and deli counter. Same European grocery selection. Same kitchen standards as Etobicoke, with a larger dining area where the atmosphere is warm, the portions are generous, and the music playing in the background makes the whole thing feel less like lunch and more like an occasion.
Customers come for the food and stay for the feel. Big portions, friendly service, and a menu that rewards regulars who know what to order. The Balkan food platter with high-quality grilled and bbq meat is a good place to start for first-timers (and hungry ones!). The ćevapi sandwich with ajvar, kajmak and onions is where most people end up.

What's Inside Every Mrakovic Location
Fresh Bosnian and Balkan Food, Made Fresh, Daily
The Balkan grill runs every day. Ćevapi hits the grates when ordered. Burek comes out of the oven golden and layered. Lepinja bakes fresh to go alongside every meal. Hot food at Mrakovic means actually hot, not warmed up, not repackaged.
Halal Butcher & Deli Counter
Butcher Shop at Mrakovic sources halal-certified, hormone-free, antibiotic-free meat. They carry Fresh Ontario Lamb, Veal, and Beef, custom-cut on request. The deli counter is entirely in-house; every smoked and cured product, like Sudzuk, is made by them, not sourced from a supplier.
European Grocery
Both locations stock a full range of Eastern European and Balkan pantry essentials, imported ajvar, dairy, specialty goods, and products not found at a regular GTA grocery store. Those who grew up eating this food will recognize everything on the shelf. Those new to it will find this is the best place to start.
Balkan Bakery
At Mrakovic Fine Foods, fresh Balkan bread is baked daily using time-honoured recipes brought from the heart of the Balkans. Their freshly baked breads are a true taste of home. Order online or visit them in-store today.
Dine In, Takeout and Delivery
Pull up a chair. Both locations have seating. Eat hot Bosnian food the way it was meant to be eaten, at a table, with people, without rushing. There's something for everyone, from Sarma, Burek, Chevapi to Balkan favourites like Sac, Kebabs, Balkan burgers and more! For those in a hurry, takeout and delivery are also available.
Some Favourites From Our Kitchen
-
Chevapi (Ćevapi) - Gold Standard, Literally
When ćevapi hits the grill, something shifts. The char, the smoke, the sizzle, it brings people back, especially those who grew up eating it at home.
At Mrakovic, ćevapi is prepared from seasoned ground beef, lamb and veal, hand-formed and grilled to order. The outside is perfectly grilled. The inside stays tender. Served with fresh-baked lepinja and raw onion - the way it's always been done. In 2019, their Chevapi won Gold at the Ontario Finest Meat Competition.
-
Burek - Made the Real Way
Properly stretched phyllo. Spiced meat or cheese filling. Rolled by hand, baked until golden. They serve meat, cheese, and potato Burek. And they make every tray from scratch because burek made with shortcuts isn't burek, and anyone who's had the real thing knows the difference immediately.
-
Lepinja, Simit & Kifla — The Balkan Breads That Make the Meal
Bread at Mrakovic isn't an afterthought. All three of their Balkan breads are baked fresh in-house every day. Lepinja is soft and pillowy, built to hold ćevapi and sauce without falling apart. Simit is the sesame-crusted ring bread of Sarajevo street corners, crisp outside, chewy within. Kifla is the buttery crescent roll that disappears from the basket before anything else. Three breads, baked fresh daily, because the meal doesn't start until the bread is right.
Can't Make It In? We've Got You Covered.
Not everyone can make it to Etobicoke or Oakville, and they get that. That's why Mrakovic frozen products like Chevapi, burgers, Kebabs, etc., are available at major grocery retailers across Canada—including Costco, Walmart, Longo's, and Farm Boy. They're in the freezer aisle, ready to bring home and heat up. No shortcuts in the making, and no compromise just because it's packaged.
Mrakovic's frozen Bosnian food line is available at both locations and in 100+ retail stores across the GTA and Ontario, including Costco, Walmart, Longo's, Farm Boy, and more. Same recipes. Same standards. No compromise on taste.
Their halal-certified grilled meats are a natural source of high-quality protein, the kind of meal that fills anyone up the right way.
